One of my favorite holiday traditions is sending and receiving cards in the mail-who doesn't?

It's the best part of December, by far.

Most of the photo cards out there are a little blah for my taste. I like good quality paper. I want to send crisp photos that my friends and family will treasure -- after all, it's likely to be the only printed photo they will get all year. I want to make it count.

When Jennifer contacted me and told me that she was in a wedding I did a couple of years ago and that she wanted me to shoot her wedding, I was thrilled!

It was a very windy the day we shot their engagement. I almost rescheduled, but glad I didn't-we got some great shots despite the wind.They were such a fun couple and didn't complain about me dragging them all through the park. lol

I love this shot!

Bettendorf Senior Photography-Alison

I love it when a senior wants to do an "urban" look for their session. The old buildings make great backgrounds and look super cool.

Alison saw a photo on my site that had this red door in it and she loved it, so I knew the perfect location for her.

This is the perfect time of the year to get your senior photos done!

The leaves will start changing and even if you want downtown photos, we can still incorporate fall into it.

Alison is into sports as well, so we stopped at the basketball court for some photos too.

Quad Cities Wedding Photographer- Don and Annie

I shot a wedding reception for a very nice couple, Don and Annie. They are Iowa fans, so their theme colors had to be black and gold!

Their cake was the prettiest cake that I've seen. I loved the elegant look of it. So beautiful! The cute "puppy" is Cooper-an important member of the family.

Annie looked so pretty in her yellow dress. I swear she could be a model!

Don was such a character. He sported some handsome "GQ" poses. :)

We had a great time with this couple. They have a beautiful family-they have such cute girls!

It was super hot out, but we still managed to get wonderful couples photos.

We ended up by the railroad tracks-these tracks were a big part of Don's history, so we had to get some fun photos. What a crazy couple they are-in a GOOD way! :)

Davenport IA Wedding Photographer-Jessie and Ryan

Jessie and Ryan are such a cute couple. They met in high school, when Jessie noticed him at the lockers (cue: every 80's teen love movie). She got up enough nerve to ask him if she could borrow his cool Heelys. After a couple of falls in those Heelys, they knew they were meant for each other.

Jessie seemed a bit nervous when she was getting ready, but she relaxed a bit as her bridal party showed up.

I actually didn't even meet Ryan until the day of the wedding. I could see why Jessie loves him. Charm. Good looks. A REAL great guy! He joked with everyone and was genuinely nice.

Jessie had 7 bridesmaids-wow!

And an adorable flower girl.

Jessie seems to be a quiet girl, and when around Ryan, she couldn't stop smiling. Ahhh. young love. Her bridal photos turned out beautiful!
The clouds stuck around all day and we hurried to get as many photos outdoors that we could. I prayed that it would hold off until after couples photos, but it began to rain right when the ceremony began. Bummer!

We decided to grab two big umbrellas and head out to the shelter by the church. I just hate doing indoor photos of couples, so if I can find a way to get them outside, I do it!

I thought the rain in the background added to the romantic feel of the photos, though, I think Jessie and Ryan could make any location look romantic.

Davenport, Iowa Children Photographer- Outdoor session

I did a photo shoot the other day of my favorite clients. These two little girls are awesome! I met mom when she was pregnant with little "K". I remember that she was a stubborn little one who didn't want to arrive on her due date.

Big sis was a great little helper every time we've done sessions together.

We had a hard time getting little K to smile, but when she did, her smile was so adorable-like her. :)

My favorite spot over by the duck pond area at the park. Love the brick wall.

I think this fountain shot will be on my next batch of brochures.

Seeing these outdoor shots makes me want to be outside doing another shoot. So, I think I'll offer $20 off the next 5 people that books a photo shoot-contact me and mention this special!

Quad Cities Engagement Photographer-Mike and Janet

I did my first session by the new studio in the Village with Janet and Mike. Yes, another Mike-third one in a row-how neat is that?

Speaking of Mike, he was a bit shy around the camera. Which means, I got to pick on him. Most guys don't consider a photo session their most favorite thing to do. He was a good sport though.

I tried to disappear and soon he forgot I was there.

I love the urban looking photos for couples. I found this wall under a bridge.

Way cool!

I totally love this red firehouse door!! This will be my new favorite background. :)

I also have beautiful spots around the studio that we were able to take advantage of.

I really love doing engagement sessions. I love to see couples in love and capture it in a photo. Jaclyn and Mike are such a couple. You can tell they love each other very much. They were full of smiles and giggles.

They wanted a session at Vander Veer Park.

It was raining off and on all day-of course. I thought we would have to reschedule, but it cleared up just in time.

There is always plenty of photo opps in the park.

Just like my last session, it started to rain the second I got in my car when we were done. What great luck I'm having! :)

Quad Cities Wedding Photographer - Engagement Angela & Mike

The forecast was calling for rain, but it hadn't arrived yet, so we decided to still do the engagement shoot. Angela and Mike were excited to do their shoot and open to do any poses. The sun was hiding behind the clouds which was fine with me.

I like overcast days.

They didn't want to do the traditional Vanderveer Park setting, so we decided on the bike path.

Angela and Mike are such goofballs (I say that affectionately!) that it was hard for them to do any serious shots. They laughed so much during the shoot, that I had I had to make them think of something sad to get the one or two serious shots.

I love the color choices they picked. The colors went well with the setting.

Doing the shoot at the bike path was a good idea. I think I will recommend it to other clients.

When we finished the shoot, it literally starting sprinkling the very moment I got into my car-seriously!

I can't wait to shoot their wedding in November! I think they will be loads of fun to work with and that's the best kind of clients to have. :)

Quad Cities Newborn Photographer-Newborn Twins!

For my first session in my new studio, I got to do a newborn shoot-my favorite type of shoot!

I really am an avid blogger. I have a personal blog that I blog regularly, but I seem to fall behind on my business blogs-go figure!

I really haven't done anything with this blog in the way of design and I want to change all that. I will be adding a link to a photographer's blog as well for anyone who loves photography. I want to start the new year out right and network with other vendors to really get my business going strong.

I'm so excited about it-now, to find the time to do it. lol

So, look for it to happen soon and I will be holding a contest to celebrate it as well!

Quad Cities Maternity Photographer-Indoor shoot

With the weather so cold and yucky outside, a photographer has no choice but to do photos inside. These are the sad months of the year for me because I much rather do my shoots outside.

This photo session was a blast and this mom-to-be was a natural!

She was open to all poses and we got some beautiful photos!

I love black and white maternity shots and belly shots work so well.

I also love doing silhouette photos with maternity shoots. This one was my favorite.

Quad Cities Newborn Photographer-Stubborn baby G

This baby boy came to see me a bit later than the normal newborn photo time frame. Baby G did NOT want to be sleepy for his photo shoot. In fact, at first he didn't want anything to do with it. He just wanted his mommy-which, I don't blame him, cause she is the nicest mommy!

And so was Daddy!

He eventually came around. Maybe, or he was so tired of fighting it. Either way, his photos turned out so adorable!

I couldn't resist. I had to do a Mohawk with all that gorgeous hair.

I bet these made adorable Christmas cards!

Quad Cities Maternity photographer-Before the leaves fell

I had the honor of shooting this beautiful couple's maternity photo session. We had to hurry before the weather started getting too cold.

Mama-to-be was so nice and very photogenic!

Dad-to-be was kind of shy (like they usually are!) but, he came around after a bit coaxing.

They brought their first baby so they could remember how their family was before the baby. She wasn't too interested in posing for photos, but we got some good ones in.

The weather was so nice, I hated to leave. I love the fall look.

This little one is arriving in November- congrats to you two!
